Everyone at our Grace Road site are very proud to announce that we have successfully been awarded with the Millies Mark accreditation. This award has been awarded to show how much we go above and beyond to keep all children safe within our care. All of our staff are qualified in pediatric first aid and this accreditation has been endorsed by the NDNA. Well done to the team for all your dedication and commitment to provide the best care we possibly can.

Reading in the Early Years

Buster Finds His Beat is heart-warming story that encourages children to be inclusive, empathetic, understanding and welcoming when they meet other children who are different to them. The story brings awareness of diversity, captures the magic of imagination and promotes the importance of kindness.

This book alone meets several of the EYFS outcomes for children within the early years. The children in the Pre-School room today really enjoyed the story that Pamela Aculey read to them. We have had great discussions this morning about similarities and differences between us. Spook-tacular stay and play with Alton Care home

Our pre-school children at Grace Road had some lovely visitors from the Alton care home- next door to our nursery on Thursday 31^st November 19 where we had a spook-tacular Halloween themed stay and play. Some of the children dressed up in their very creative costumes, we all decorated biscuits, make insects out of the coloured playdough, painted pumpkins, splashed around in the glitter and google eyes in the water and even had some yummy Halloween cupcakes that we ate at tea time and gave out for the elderly to take back to the care home to enjoy. Thank you all so much for the joyous afternoon that we all spent together, the interaction and care shown between our wonderful children and the elderly was truly beautiful, one of the residents even asked if they could come back over the Christmas period.

Millie’s Mark at Oadby

This week at the Oadby site we are proud to announce we have successfully been accredited with Millie’s Mark. Millie’s Mark is a quality mark for nurseries. We have been awarded with this due to our extensive knowledge of paediatric first aid and because we go above and beyond the standard requirements in order to keep our children safe. This has been awarded by the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) in association with the Department for Education and Millie’s trust.

Police visit

Last week at Grace Road we had a special visit from two lovely police ladies; we spoke about the police car- their flashing lights and their sirens, we got to try on the police hat and Hi-viz vest, we looked at the equipment that the police carry in the back of their cars such as- emergency cones and torches. Then we had a little chat about how the police help us, the children thoroughly enjoyed this visit and we would like to say a big thank you for making time in your busy day to come out and see us all.

Millie’s Mark, inspiring Excellence in Paediatric First Aid

We have some very exciting news!

We have successfully been awarded ‘Millie’s Mark’, a quality mark for nurseries, at our city centre branch.
This has been awarded to us because of knowledge on paediatric first aid and that we go above and beyond the minimum requirements to keep children safe and minimize risks and accidents.
This has been awarded by the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) and in association with the Department for Education and Millie’s trust.

New starters

This week we have been welcoming back children from their summer breaks and had the privlidge of welcoming our new friends that have started at St.Georges Nursery at Grace Road. We are all enjoying getting to know each other and having lots of fun with all the creative experiences that we gain whilst at nursery. We still have spaces for 0-2’s, 2-3’s and 3-5’s so please require within management for further information.

Sensory experiences at the city site

The pre-school and holiday care children at the city site have been exploring various textures this week and getting good and messy. We have looked at pincer control, writing in couscous, making patterns in slimy soup and discussing how cornflour has a hard and slimy consistency at the same time

Graduation at Grace Road

It’s that time of year again at Grace Road where we all say our sad goodbye to the school leavers; we wish you all good luck at your new schools. It has been a privilege to help everyone grow into the wonderful children that they have become, it’s always sad to see them go but always full of pride seeing everything they have accomplished.
