The Great British Bake Off at St Georges Oadby! It’s bread week and the 3-5’s enjoyed making cheesy cobs. They used a variety of techniques such as mixing, kneeding and rolling. Well done to all our star bakers!

Millie’s Mark at Oadby

This week at the Oadby site we are proud to announce we have successfully been accredited with Millie’s Mark. Millie’s Mark is a quality mark for nurseries. We have been awarded with this due to our extensive knowledge of paediatric first aid and because we go above and beyond the standard requirements in order to keep our children safe. This has been awarded by the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) in association with the Department for Education and Millie’s trust.

Spring time at Oadby

This week at the Oadby site the babies have enjoyed getting ready for Easter and spring with lots of different activities. They’ve enjoyed exploring the different tastes, textures and smells whilst icing biscuits, decorating easter eggs and getting messy with feather play.

It’s been a messy week this week at Oadby! The 2’s-3’s have enjoyed exploring colour and mark making through sensory play. They explored the different textures of coloured rice, shaving foam mixed with paint and bright playdough and cutters.

Life cycles at Oadby

At the Oadby site the pre-school room has been looking at life cycles over the past few weeks. We had some frogspawn in a tank last week and they have turned into tadpoles. we have also got some catterpillars which we have been learning about and can’t wait to see the transformation

This week in the baby unit, we have enjoyed texture play with the playdough, printing shapes and using different tools to create marks.

Getting messy with letter formation at Oadby

This week at Oadby the 3’s-5’s in jolly giraffes have enjoyed getting messy whilst practicing letter formation. They used their hands and fingers to trace the letters in their names into the shaving foam!

Chinese new year at Oadby

The children at Oadby have been getting ready for Chinese new year next week. They have been doing lots of craft activities such as making lanters and decorating a dog for the year of the dog. They have also changed their role play area into a chinese restaurant. We will be changng the menue next friday to sweet and sour chicken and noodles.
